Udon noodles are boiled in water before serving and can be used directly from the package. Udon can about be stir-fried with sauce or served cold with a dipping sauce (zaru udon). Zaru Udon noodles are chilled and served on a bamboo mat. They are accompanied by a dipping sauce and Kitsune Udon is served in a hot broth with aburaage, thin sheets of fried tofu, placed on.
Steps to make Fried Udon Noodles:
- Cut the vegetables. Heat a frying pan over medium heat and stir fry the pork.
- When the pork has cooked, take out to a tray, but keep the oil in the pan. Cook the vegetables with the pork oil.
- Once the vegetables have cooked, add the udon noodles, season with umami seasoning (optional), dashi stock powder and sake.
- Sprinkle bonito flakes on the noodles. Fry the noodles well until browned.
- After the noodles have cooked well, season with Japanese-style Worcestershire sauce and soy sauce and mix. It's done.
